FIFA introduce video referrals in the Confederations Cup

g
To avoid ghastly wrong decisions like England’s disallowed goal in World Cup 2010 FIFA are trying out the VAR (video assisted referree) system in the Confederations Cup.However instead of reducing controversy VAR in its debut has unfortunately generated a good bit of controversy instead.
Portugal and Mexico battled it out and ended up with two goals each.Pepe scored a goal in the 22nd minute of the game but it was ruled out offside by the (VAR) system.
In Chile’s game against Cameroon, both Eduardo Vargas and the referee thought that he had scored a goal for sure against Cameroon.
However the VAR cancelled the goal for being marginally offside.
There was still more VAR assisted drama in the dying seconds of the game. This time Vargas scored off a rebound and most people thought the goal should not have been allowed.VAR said otherwise.
So the VAR system seems to be a work in progress and opinions are divided about how successful it’s debut was.
