Belgium beat Brazil in the counterattack

bel
Belgium lived up to their billing, beating Brazil 2 – 1 in a most memorable quarter final that was as good as any final of the past.
Kevin de Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku and Eden Hazard have taken over from Barcelona’s Messi,Suarez and the long gone Neymar as being the best attacking trident in the world.
Vincent Kompany, Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen, their fearsome fullbacks, rode their luck and got the job done.
Cortois was absolutely brilliant – making some great saves to keep Brazil at bay.
The move that Lukaku and de Bruyne made, combining to score Belgium’s second goal was a masterclass of counterattacking football.
Despite all the talent that Brazil had in their squad – they could not come up with anything like that.
And what of Neymar?
According to a “study” by Swiss television station RTS Sport, Neymar’s penchant for thrashing about like a lunatic on the field has cost his team, opponents and fans 14 minutes (in this World Cup) that they will never get back.
And the jokes at his expense are mounting up.
