La Liga’s USA move hits turbulence

la
La Liga suddenly announced last week that some of their league games this season would be played in the USA.
Javier Tebas, head of La Liga, has signed on a 15-year deal with Relevent Sports.
Charlie Stillitano,American sports executive and radio presenter and Executive Chairman of Relevent Sports described it as “a first-of-a-kind, 15-year, equal joint venture to promote soccer in the U.S. and Canada.”
Unfortunately for Tebas,it seems he took the decision without actually asking the Spanish FA or consulting the players.
The fact that Spain’s top clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, will now have to play matches thousands of miles from home—with points at stake has not got them leaping for joy at the prospect.
Some of the La Liga captains are meeting to discuss their concerns and objections to the move.
Apart from promoting Soccer in USA its also big business – but it has run into turbulence for now.
