This is only the third time ever that a team rallied from three goals down after the first leg of a semifinal and progressed to the final.Panathinaikos in 1970-71 and Barcelona in 1985-86 have done this before.
However Liverpool become the first team to achieve this in the Champions League era.

And poor old Barcelona are on a hat trick of eliminations.They let a three-goal lead slip last year as well – beating Roma 4-1 at home in the quarterfinals in before losing the return leg 3-0 to be eliminated.
