Germany against the Ivory Coast was not for the faint hearted.Ivory Coast came out with all guns blazing.
F Kessie gave Ivory Coast the first goal off a swift counterattack in the 30th minute.
Germany’s second half reply didn’t come from Musiala,Wirtz or Havertz.The unlikely hero of the day was a certain Deniz Undav,who is in the German World Cup Squad as a substitute rather than a spearhead.
And eight minutes after being subbed on,just when all hope seemed to be lost, he connected to a cross and volleyed home the equalizer.
There was more drama left.
In the 94th minute he connected again. With 2 minutes of injury time left on the clock and an offside trap to beat he managed to trap,twist and shoot and win the game for Germany.Talk about delivering under pressure.
